DELMAR, Del. (Apr. 18, 2026) — Dave Brown Jr. of Aston, Pennsylvania took top honors Saturday night at Delaware International Speedway by capturing his first MASS victory of the young season. Brown outlasted defending champion Troy Betts in the 25-lap feature with the DCB Plumbing & Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series presented by Capitol Renegade. It was Brown’s 13th career MASS victory, tying him for second on the all-time win list for the series.

Brown drew the pole during the redraw and took full advantage, grabbing the early lead at the start while Betts wasted no time giving chase. Betts pressured Brown in the opening laps, with Brown slowly opening up a five-car-length advantage. Meanwhile, behind the leaders, heat winner Ryan Stillwaggon was on the move, battling with D.J. Tanner and last week’s winner Tim Iulg for third. The trio raced three-wide multiple times in a thrilling fight that lasted several laps. By halfway, Tanner secured the position, with Iulg in pursuit and Stillwaggon fending off a hard-charging Aiden Borden.

At that point, Brown had stretched his lead to nearly a full second over Betts, who continued to track him down. Borden challenged Stillwaggon for fifth, and the pair put on a side-by-side duel for three laps before Stillwaggon held on. Over the final 10 laps, Betts began to reel Brown back in, shifting the focus to the leaders.

With two laps remaining and Betts just three car lengths behind, the duo encountered lapped traffic, giving Betts one last chance to make a move. In the final two turns, Betts went to the high side searching for momentum, but Brown held firm to secure the victory by just .441 seconds. The 25-lap feature ran caution-free in eight minutes and 31 seconds.

Brown’s win marked his third career triumph at Delaware International Speedway in the nine MASS events held there since 2017. Betts finished second for the second straight race and now takes over the series point lead in his bid to repeat as champion. Tanner crossed the line third, followed by Iulg. Stillwaggon, who won his heat race and set fast time in hot laps, completed the top five.
