Moore Outduels Blood in Wild Grays Harbor Modified Thriller

ELMA, Wash. (Apr. 26, 2025) — Craig Moore of Seabeck led all 25 laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Grays Harbor Raceway, but to earn his first win of the 2025 season in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region was anything but easy.

Moore took command at the drop of the green, quickly distancing himself from Scott Miller while the action behind was absolute chaos. The race from third through eighth went two- and even three-wide early on, as Tyson Blood carved his way forward from the 10th starting position.

After a pair of early cautions, Austin Rognlin powered into second and Blood cracked the top three. The trio went to war on the ensuing restart, with four-wide battles breaking out behind them in a showcase of edge-of-your-seat racing.

A third yellow with 14 laps to go set the stage for the moment of the night: Blood used the restart to sling past Moore in turn one, but Moore kept his foot planted, ripped the cushion, and crossed over exiting turn two to regain the lead in a breathtaking exchange.

The race stayed green to the finish, and Moore had to navigate dense lapped traffic over the final laps while fending off a relentless Blood. But the Seabeck wheelman never flinched, holding on to score the win.

Blood finished a hard-fought second, with Rognlin taking third to round out the podium.

In stride, Winebarger tops Shipwreck Beads Nationals

ELMA, Wash. (July 23, 2022) – Collen Winebarger is hitting his stride at just the right time. Best in the West IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods to battle at Grays Harbor Shipwreck Beads Nationals

(July 12, 2023) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and SportMods are coming to Grays Harbor Raceway this weekend, July 14 and 15, for the Shipwreck Beads Modified Nationals. One of the longest running IMCA Modified specials in the Northwest at 24 years brings an additional $6,500 to the main event on Saturday, July 15 including a $7,500 top prize and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility for the winner. If that’s not enough this year’s Saturday night main event for the Modifieds will feature a three-wide initial start. IMCA Northern SportMods, Hobby Stocks new at Grays Harbor in 2022

ELMA, Wash. – Two more IMCA divisions debut on the dirt in Washington in 2022, with Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks joining select Saturday night programs at Grays Harbor Raceway. Northern SportMod race dates are May 14, June 25 during the third annual West Coast Modified Clash and July 22 and 23, as part of the 23rd annual Shipwreck Beads Nationals. Deschamp Shines in Stock Car Thriller at Nodak Speedway

(Apr. 27, 2025) — Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars took center stage at Nodak Speedway’s season opener, and the 3/8-mile “Playground of Power” delivered thrilling side-by-side action on a crisp Sunday evening. Chris Tuchscherer, the 2005 Williston Basin Stock Car champion and double-duty driver for the night, grabbed the early lead. However, two-time defending track champion Will Scheresky found a way around him by lap 4 and began pulling away before a caution slowed the field on the fifth circuit. On the restart, Gabe Deschamp — fresh off a win at Marshalltown’s Frostbuster earlier in the month — tracked down Scheresky and completed a bold move on the inside to take command on lap 6. (Apr. 26, 2025) — Myron DeYoung proved the high side was the fast lane at Crystal Motor Speedway, using a late-race move to claim his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the 2025 season — and extend one of IMCA’s most impressive streaks. With the victory, DeYoung has now won at least one IMCA Modified main event in each of the last 31 consecutive seasons, continuing a remarkable run that spans more than three decades.
