DeVault Dominates for Redemption Win at Bridgeport

SWEDESBORO, N.J. (Mar. 29, 2025) — Bob DeVault powered to a commanding win Saturday night in the 25-lap RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main event at Bridgeport Speedway, marking the second Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series event of the season.

DeVault, of Alloway, New Jersey, launched into the lead from the drop of the green at the 4/10-mile “Kingdom of Speed”. Aidan Borden held off early pressure from Dave Brown while Kevin Nagy moved into third and then passed Brown, allowing both DeVault and Borden to gain distance on the field.

As DeVault navigated heavy traffic, Nagy advanced into second. Borden tried to counter but couldn’t reclaim the spot. Nagy, the 2021 series champion, began to chase down the leader, but DeVault had built an impressive advantage.

A caution erased the gap with DeVault but also relieved the leader from being buried in lapped traffic. On the restart, Borden attempted to retake second, allowing DeVault to pull away again. A few laps later, Nagy came to a stop to bring out another yellow. After racing resumed, Borden and Brown renewed their battle for the runner-up spot. DeVault continued to roll the high side and checked out from the field.

DeVault went untouched in the closing laps for an emotional victory. In victory lane, he reflected on a difficult stretch that included three destroyed cars last season and an engine failure in the 2025 opener.

Brown eventually gained the edge over Borden, who lost third to a late-charging Brian Carber at the line.

Sweigart wins on last-lap pass at BAPS

By Frank Buhrman YORK HAVEN, Pa. (Aug. 3) – Nic Sweigart passed Zach Newlin on the final lap to claim the victory in Saturday’s 20-lap IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature at BAPS Motor Speedway. It was Sweigart’s second win of the season and the second of his career at York Haven. The race was co-sanctioned by the Pennsylvania Sprint Series and the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series. A five-time winner at BAPS over the last two seasons, Newlin set sail and built a lead of nearly three seconds before a lap seven caution. Sweigart moved through the field from his ninth starting position. On lap 12, he passed Eddie Wagner for the runner-up spot and set his sights on Newlin, charging around high against the outside wall. The momentum from that high run enabled him to catch the leader in the first set of turns and slip past on the backstretch. Rookie schools IMCA RaceSaver foes at Bloomsburg

(July 25) – Rookie Zack Bealer found a way around Bloomsburg Fair Raceway that nobody else could match and scored his first win in a full-sized sprint car in Sunday’s IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature co-sanctioned by the Pennsylvania Sprint Series and the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series. The former micro-sprint driver, running regularly with MASS, already had amassed two top-five finishes and four top-10’s in just six starts, including a seventh at Bridgeport Speedway in his first RaceSaver start, the season-opening co-sanctioned event for both groups. Mallicoat Outduels Grabouski in Modified Photo Finish At Eagle

(Apr. 18, 2025) — The 2025 first night of the Ice Breaker Challenge kicked off in spectacular fashion at Eagle Raceway, and the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event delivered one of the closest finishes the track has seen in recent memory, as Izac Mallicoat battled to the very last corner with his chassis builder, Jordan Grabouski. Jaxon Saathoff led the initial circuit but would soon be doing battle with Mallicoat. Mallicoat took over the top spot from Saathoff on lap 3 but Grabouski continued to march his way to the front on lap 12, moving to second and then taking the lead from Mallicoat two laps later. Gottschalk Wins Modified Opener At WaKeeney

(Apr. 18, 2025) — Daniel Gottschalk made the most of his 2025 debut, outdueling Greg Gustus in a spirited Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature Friday night at WaKeeney Speedway to earn his first score of the year in the Jet Racing Central Region. The race started off with a front row of Greg Gustus and Gottschalk, who battled closely throughout the feature, as each took turns leading at different points. Late in the race, Gottschalk solidified the lead and ran away from Gustus en route to the victoyu. Second was Gustus, while third was Clay Money.
