RaceSaver win at Eagle by Grossenbacher is a classic

EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 5, 2023) – The final race of the night proved to be a classic on Rock ‘n Roll Classic Night Saturday at Eagle Raceway.

Trevor Grossenbacher raced from 17th to first in scoring his first IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature win of the season.

Grossenbacher was on a mission as he passed Jake Galusha for second with six laps to go. There were just two laps left when Josh Riggins spun out in turn two, setting up a  battle to the finish between Grossenbacher and Tyler Drueke.

Grossenbacher used a huge slider in turns three and four on the restart to grab the lead, then held on for the win with Drueke second and Adam Gullion third.

“Everybody was kind of two-wide at the start and I couldn’t get my momentum going. Then we had a yellow and was able to get up top to where I wanted to be. I started moving forward and found the bottom in three and four,” he said. “The yellows kind of fell my way and that one with two to go was huge! I knew if I could keep up with Tyler in one and two that I would have a shot at getting him on the bottom of three and four.”

“It worked out and I couldn’t be happier,” he added. “My crew gave me a great race car tonight and the Speedway Motors engine ran good. Thanks to all of my sponsors who allow me to do this. We haven’t raced much this year, but we’re making it count.” 

Chad Andersen won his second Friesen Performance IMCA Modified start in as many weeks and Tyler Jackon’s IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock checkers were his second of the season at Eagle.

Dillon Richards and Matt Andrews both picked up their fifth local feature wins of 2023 in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, respectively.

Saathoff scores opener at Eagle

(April 23, 2022) – After last week’s Icebreaker Challenge was canceled, this week’s Start Your Engines presented by A1 Iron and Empire Fence program at Eagle Raceway could have been branded the Windbreaker Challenge. Drueke soars in Sprint Series of Nebraska at Eagle

(April 25) – Two drivers who definitely know the fast way around Eagle Raceway squared off in a Precise Racing Sprint Series of Nebraska tilt.  Tyler Drueke got the better of Joey Danley in the Thursday night main event, which ran caution-free and was contested to the checkers.  Rounding out the top five were Josh Riggins, Cody Ledger and two-time series champion Adam Gullion Riggins, Gullion, Neil Nickolite and Keith Dragoo led the field on lap one; Drueke vaulted past Nickolite and Dragoo on lap three, moved to second with 17 to go and snagged the lead six laps later. Ledger moved into fourth with nine laps remaining. Danley passed Ledger two laps later, advanced to third with four to go and took the second spot on the next circuit, ultimately coming up just one position short of the checkers. Feature results – 1. Beckman is best in Eagle Hobby Stock main

(June 9) – Nick Beckman grabbed the lead on lap two and held off all challengers in win­ning Saturday’s Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Eagle Raceway. “I’d say it’s been four years since I’ve been on the front stretch here. It feels really good to be back in a Hobby Stock,” he said. “I knew I had to get out front and run away. I’m just glad that I was able to hold off all of the fast drivers.” Scott Bivens got the lead on the 11th circuit in winning the Hoosier Racing Tire IMCA Northern SportMod main. Likewise, it had been a while since he’d been to victory lane at Eagle. “It’s been a year and a half since my last win, at least,” Bivens said post-race. “But we just keep chugging along.
