IMCA Modified stars shine at Aug. 5, 6 Hancock County Speedway specials

BRITT, Iowa (July 26, 2022) – The stars of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified division get top billing at Hancock County Speedway specials on Aug. 5 and 6.

The Friday Night of 1,000 Stars special at Britt pays $1,500 to win and $1,000 to second, third and fourth place finishers while Saturday’s Night of 10,000 Stars pays $2,000 to the winner and $1,000 to each driver finishing second through 10th.

Both main events will start 30 cars three-wide with mandatory pit stops at half way of each 50-lapper. Drivers will be introduced on the front stretch both nights. 

Pre-entry is $150 for both nights in mailed before July 29 to PO Box 55 in Britt, Iowa, 50423, or $100 a night at the track. 

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run for $1,000 to win and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts for $250 to win each night. There is no entry fee for any of those divisions.

Modified winners become eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational, Stock Car winners for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded for each draw/redraw show. 

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow.

Pit passes are $30 for adults, $15 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $10 for teens 13-18 and free for ages 12 and under. 

A kids’ candy toss will be held during intermission on Friday. Both the Night of 1,000 Stars and Night of 10,000 Stars will be broadcast by IMCA.TV.

First-time Hancock County competitor takes Night of 1,000 Stars IMCA Modified win

BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 6) – Tripp Gaylord’s latest first-time track visit led him to victory lane at Hancock County Speedway.  Gaylord raced from 10th starting to win Friday’s IMCA Modified Night of 1,000 Stars main event, and $3,000, at Hancock County Speedway.  “This was our first time at Britt. Every IMCA Speedweek track is new to us,” the Colorado driver said. “It’s always nice to win the first time you race somewhere. We know that whenever we travel out of town we have to be at the top of our game.”  Jeremy Mills led early in the 50-lapper before Kollin Hibdon ran him down. That pair battled for the lead before the charging Gaylord entered the fray. They ran three-wide for the lead for several laps with Gaylord in charge at the midway break. Lapped traffic became a factor in the second half of the contest. Gaylord ran in heavy traffic the last five laps, beating Hibdon to the checkers by a couple car lengths. Hancock County’s Hobo 100 has $4,000 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car top prize 

BRITT, Iowa – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars get top billing at Hancock County Speedway’s Friday, July 27 Hobo 100, racing for a top prize of $4,000. Rounding out the card are IMCA Modifieds vying for $2,000 to win and a berth on the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, while Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $200 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Iowa State, but no local track points will be awarded at the draw/redraw show. Pit gates open at 5 p.m., the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. and racing follows 7 p.m. hot laps. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $5 for kids ages 5-12 and free for four and under. Pit passes are $30. Hobo 40 at Hancock County pays IMCA Stock Car winner $2,000

BRITT, Iowa – Forty laps will be the distance and $2,000 will be the top prize at Hancock County Speedway’s Friday, July 31 Hobo 40 special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. That feature pays a minimum of $200 to start, has a $75 entry fee and highlights the county fair show. Also on the race night card are IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded. Pit gates open at 5 p.m., the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. and racing follows 7 p.m. hot laps. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and veterans, and free for kids ages 12 and under.
