Hancock County Speedway hosts June 13 IMCA SportMod Nationals

BRITT, Iowa (Feb. 22, 2024) – Back when Hancock County Speedway was being built, Darin Toot used to take breaks from his job delivering milk and eat his lunch at the track so he could follow the work in progress. Beginning this season, he’ll focus his energies on delivering first-rate race programs at Britt. Due to rain, already wet track conditions and a less than stellar forecast, Hancock County Speed­way’s Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod Nationals have been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 10. The MaxYield Seed-sponsored special pays $2,500 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. The evening’s IMCA Modified feature pays $1,000 to win and is both a Fast Shafts All-Star Invita­tional ballot and Wehr’s Dash at the Harris Clash qualifier. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $600 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Iowa State, but no track points will be awarded. BRITT, Iowa – Racing returns to Hancock County Speedway Friday night, with five IMCA divisions on the June 11 card.  The Hancock County District Fair Board has taken over promotion of weekly events, slated to feature IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts, for the remainder of the season.  “We would like to thank Ryan, Holly and Daryl for all of the work they have put into the track for the past year and a half,” said Ryan Hiscocks, a fair board director. “The facility is in great shape.
