Super Nationals online registration underway

BOONE, Iowa – Online registration for the biggest and best event in all of dirt track racing is underway.  Drivers in all divisions except the Late Models planning to compete at the Sept. 2-7 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s must pre-register online. The form for pre-registration can be found at www.imca.com and www.raceboone.com under the Super Nationals menu.  Drivers who do not already have a MyRacePass account can create one when they go to that link. “We began the on-line registration process last year and it helped speed up the entire process immensely,” said IMCA President Brett Root. “It made it considerably easier for our staff to prepare for Super Nationals leading up to the event and streamlined much of the actual week of Super Nationals for IMCA and Boone Speedway employees.”  Drivers must also pre-register to reserve pit stalls and to compete in the Aug. 31 Prelude at Boone Speedway. Gilman, Jaennette park in victory lane at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (May 15) – Two drivers returned to victory lane after several years’ absence, one driver made his first-ever appearance on the winner’s stage at the track and two drivers took repeat wins Saturday at Boone Speedway. Chase Rudolf and Josh Gilman led the IMCA Modified field to green, with Gilman gaining the upper hand and taking command. Gilman was challenged several times by Andy Tiernan but it was to no avail as Gilman went on to take the checkers in the caution-free contest. This was Gilman’s first weekly win since 2011 at Boone. Tiernan had to be content with second place, Rudolf finished third, Clint Wendel was fourth, and Jimmy Gustin raced from 10th starting to take fifth. Stuart Frostbuster now canceled, Marshalltown, Boone dates still on

STUART, Iowa – Both the Wednesday, April 3 practice night and Thursday, April 4 IMCA Frostbuster at Stuart Speedway have now been canceled.  Rain in the forecast, a lack of drying time and a frozen water line share the blame.  Marshalltown Speedway hosts the Friday, April 5 show and Boone Speedway hosts the Saturday, April 6 finale.  Ken Schrader joins IMCA Modified fields at Frostbusters Friday, April 5 at Marshalltown Speedway and Saturday, April 6 at Boone Speedway. Modifieds race for $1,000 to win in Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events both nights.  IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $500 to win, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods for $400 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $250 to win Friday and Saturday while IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars vie for $1,000 to win at Boone.  Gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and racing follows 7 p.m. hot laps at Mar­shalltown.
