IMCA Modifieds return to Fayette County Speedway for Rage Chassis 40

WEST UNION, Iowa – IMCA Modifieds are all the rage again at Fayette County Speedway on July 21.

Next Wednesday’s Rage Chassis 40 main event is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier and pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded at the draw/redraw show, to be held on the second night of the county fair and in West Union, the home town of Rage Chassis.

“I work closely with the fair board and this is something we’ve wanted to do for a number of years. Obviously, it didn’t work out last year,” said Rage owner Justin O’Brien, “but we’d like to see this become an annual event.”

The 40-lap distance allows the feature to be “more of a showcase deal,” he added, as fans get to see the Modifieds on the track in an event longer than those run by weekly classes.

O’Brien’s shop is on Highway 150 a block or so from the track and will be open on race day for anyone who’d like to stop in.

Pit gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 p.m. and racing to follow. Entry fee is $50.

Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $5 for kids ages 5-11 and free for ages four and under. Pit passes are $25.
