MEEKER, Okla. (June 25) – Tanner Conn took advantage of his outside front row starting position to win the 40-lap AmeriFlex/Oil Capital Racing Series 40-lap Mike Peters Classic Friday at Red Dirt Raceway. 

It was Conn’s first career victory with the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car Series and he became the seventh different OCRS winner of the 2021 season.  

It took Conn two laps to get past pole sitter Brandon Jennings. Once out front, Conn led the remaining 38 laps.

Joe Wood Jr. started sixth and raced his way into second on lap 32 but could not catch Conn. Joe Bob Lee, who started 15th after transferring from the ‘B’ main, moved into third on the final lap. Danny Smith and Steven Shebester finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Wood, Martin score Sprint Series of Oklahoma opening weekend wins

MEEKER, Okla. (March 7-8) – Danny Wood ran his winning streak to three before Jason Martin started a streak of his own during opening weekend action for the Sprint Series of Oklahoma.  Wood topped Saturday’s main event for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars at Red Dirt Raceway, tak­ing the lead just before midway in the 20-lapper. And under gray Sunday skies, Martin motored from eighth on the initial grid to catch Wood for the lead in heavy traffic on the 10th of 25 circuit.  A double winner at Lawton Speedway on the final weekend of the 2019 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season, Wood had just two career SSO starts under his belt coming into the dou­bleheader at Red Dirt and his Saturday night could have only gotten better after he drew the 98 pill. Shebester wins OCRS season opener

(March 4, 2022) – Steven Shebester led start to finish in Friday’s AmeriFlex Oil Capital Racing Series IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car season opener at Red Dirt Raceway, but the 25-lap distance was more grueling then Shebester expected.   “It was getting a little tough toward the end,” Shebester said about going the distance on opening day of the Red Dirt Raceway Spring Nationals. “Being the first race of the season, I got a little wore out. I need to get back into race shape.”  Part of the problem stemmed a fast tacky track that made for a very competitive field.   “The track was good,” Shebester said. “I came up on lapped traffic about 15 laps in and they were fast. Nebraska’s Drueke wins first career OCRS Sprint feature

By John Rittenoure MEEKER, Okla. (March 5, 2022) – Tyler Drueke traveled a long ways to race his IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car on Saturday. But the trip was worth it.  The Eagle, Neb., resident took the lead with 10 laps remaining and went on to win his first career AmeriFlex Oil Capital Racing Series feature during the second day of the Spring Nationals at Red Dirt Raceway.  After a restart on lap 18, Drueke saw his chance to pass Blake Edwards and Sheldon Barksdale for the lead and never looked back.  “I just went around on the outside,” Drueke said of his pass of the two for the lead.  It was heartbreak for Barksdale who started on the pole and led from the opening lap.
