INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (May 1) – The first feature on the Saturday night program at Independence Motor Speedway saw Nate Albrant win his career-first Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod main event.

Albrant took the top spot early, stayed strong on restarts and held off Brian Kauffman and Tony Olson to take the checkers.

Logan Duffy edged veteran Curt Martin for the IMCA Sunoco Late Model victory and Rod McDonald hustled to the IMCA Modified checkers, leading start to finish in the 20-lapper and holding off a tenacious Mike Burbridge.

Cole Mather was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner and Luke Bird was best in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock headliner.

IMCA Late Models chase season’s first Sunoco bonus at Independence

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (May 11, 2023) – The track that’s crowned the most IMCA Sunoco Late Model champions awards the first Sunoco Race Fuels Bonus of the season this Saturday night. The May 13 Late Model winner at Independence Motor Speedway earns a $250 bonus from their divisional title sponsor. The Saturday show is the first of the season for the Late Models at Indee, where an all-IMCA lineup also features Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing to follow. Pit passes are $30. Saturday’s race program at Independence will be broadcast by IMCA.TV affiliate DONE RIGHT. TV. 2023 marks the 35th season Independence has sanctioned its Late Model division with IMCA.

No races at Independence this Saturday

By Jerry Mackey INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – The officials of the Independence Motor Speedway have announced that races will not be held this Saturday, May 30 due to the Covid-19 restrictions still in place which does not allow fans to attend.   Racing will return to the Independence Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 6 with fans being allowed in the grandstand. More information regarding the June 6 races will be announced in the very near future.

IMCA Modifieds, Late Models headline Iowa Donor Network Night at Indee

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win while the IMCA Sunoco Late Models crown a track champion Saturday at Independence Motor Speedway.  The Iowa Donor Network Night event features a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier for the Modifieds while Late Models run for an $860 top check in their 2020 season champion­ship event at Indee. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars chase a $550 top check, with $500 paid to win in the Karl Kustoms North­ern SportMod feature and $300 to win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Monetary contributions will be paid throughout each feature field. There will be prizes for fans and driv­ers, along with a raffle and bike drawing for kids. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m. Spectator admission is $13 for adults and $5 for kids. Pit passes are $25.
