Carter, Murty, DeVolder are Stuart IMCA winners

STUART, Iowa (April 14) – Brayton Carter, Dallon Murty and Shane DeVolder were IMCA winners Wednesday at Stuart Speedway. 

Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods came out first with the father/son duo of Bryan and Mitchell Morris on the front row. Bryan Morris led the first three laps with Carter blasting by to take over on lap four. It was all Carter from there as he went on to take the easy win. Brett Vanderheiden held on for second with Cam Reimers third, Dusty Masolini fourth and Garrett Nelson fifth. 

Next up were the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars with Miciah Hidlebaugh and Todd VanEaton leading the field to the green flag. Hidlebaugh went for a spin in turn one and Bob Daniels took advantage to lead the field through a couple of cautions over the first half of the race.

Dallon and Damon Murty charged into the top three and set out after Daniels at the halfway point. Dallon made a move to the outside just as Daniels’ engine let go on a restart with three to go and inherited the top spot. That would be the winning exchange as Dallon Murty went on to the feature win. Jeremy Gettler finished second with Buck Schafroth third, Michael Sheen fourth and Damon Murty fifth. 

Chase Rudolf and DeVolder led the IMCA Modified field to the green flag with Rudolf showing the way early. DeVolder marched into the lead on lap two and was never seriously challenged as he went on to the dominating win. Tim Ward made a charge at the end but settled for second with Cayden Carter third, Kyle Brown fourth and Rudolf fifth.

Scheduled features for both IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts will be run next week along with Jake Durbin Memorial races and 2020 Stock Car Awards presented by Sauerman Trucking, DJ Septic Services, Elite Electric and Wilson Welding.

Murty on top to start season 62 at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (May 10, 2023) – The engines fired up once again on Wednesday as another season began at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway with the Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel. The Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main started with Garrett Nelson and Cody Yaw on the front row. Nelson led lap one with Taylor Kuehl muscling by on the top side to take over on lap two. Kuehl led through a lap five yellow and it was Brayton Carter taking over from there. A couple cautions were the only thing slowing the 01 machine down as Carter cruised to the $1,000 win. Cam Reimers finished in second with Kuehl third, Mitchell Morris fourth and Matt Avila fifth. Jeremiah Downing and Craig Furstenau led the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts onto the track next and it was Downing leading early on. Daniels cruises in Stuart Stock Car feature

By Josh Reynolds  STUART, Iowa (Aug. 5) – Bob Daniels worked his way to the front, then cruised to the Wednes­day night IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win at Stuart Speedway.  Brad Derry and Brock Badger showed the way to the green flag but Daniels used the bottom of the track to take over the lead just before halfway and stayed in front to the checkers. Badger fin­ished second with Buck Schafroth third.       Tim Ward led the way through traffic and led Tom Berry Jr. across the stripe in the IMCA Modified main event. Dylan Nelson took charge at the crossed flags and led to the finish of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. There was no catching Brayton Carter after he rocketed from seventh starting to the lead two laps into the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature. Hunter Patrick topped a thriller for the Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Aug. 19 will be Hall of Fame Night.

Baudler is best at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds  STUART, Iowa (July 10) – Daniel Baudler earned his Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod career first feature win Wednesday at Stuart Speedway.  Baudler led Brandon Patava and David Schwartz on lap one. Patava took over the lead on lap three and led until Baudler retook the top spot on lap nine. Colton Nelson threw his hat in the ring on lap 10 but faded after that as Patava shot back into second a lap later. Baudler looked to be on his way to the win but had to wait as a lap 16 caution set up a two-lap dash to the finish. As Hunter Longnecker and Schwartz battled for second it was all Baudler as he would go on to his first career victory in the division.
