$2,008 payday for IMCA Modifieds at East Moline’s inaugural Greg Durbin Memorial

EAST MOLINE, Ill. – Two thousand dollars is the top prize at the inaugural SportMod Stampede this Sunday at The Bullring at Rock Island County Fairgrounds. The Aug. 30 headliner at East Moline pays a minimum of $100 to start with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and KMJ Performance Illinois State points at stake. There’s a $50 entry fee for the draw/redraw show.  Rounding out the card are IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Late Models and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, running for national, regional, state and track points.  Pit gates open at 2:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 3:30 p.m. Racing follows 5:30 p.m. hot laps.  Spectator admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for kids ages 9-15. VINTON, Iowa – The payday gets even better this week for the IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature winners at Shelby County Speedway in Harlan, Iowa, and the Bullring at RICO Fairgrounds in East Moline, Ill. In a promotion postponed from last week, the IMCA Late Model winner on Saturday at Shelby County Speedway pockets an extra $250 courtesy of Sunoco Race Fuels. The same $250 Sunoco cash bonus goes to the top finisher following Sunday’s IMCA Late Model main event at the Bullring at RICO Fairgrounds. Sunoco bonuses are being presented at IMCA Late Model sanctioned weekly tracks this year. Drivers are eligible for only one bonus during the 2020 racing season. EAST MOLINE, Ill. – A family that’s cheered, raced and worked at the Bullring at Rock Island County Fairgrounds will promote the quarter-mile clay speedplant beginning this season.  Korey Peterson, along with uncles Jeff and Todd, take charge at the East Moline track. Sunday shows under the Peterson Family Promotions banner will feature IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Late Models, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and, for the first time, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. “We love this track.
