Back-to-Front Challenge returns to Dodge City on Friday night

DODGE CITY, Kan. – The Back-to-Front Challenge is back at this Friday night’s Dodge City Raceway Park Driver & Fan Appreciation Night. 

And a lucky fan could walk away from the night’s races with an extra $10,000. 

The always popular Driver & Fan Appreciation Night continues July 24 at the 3/8-mile clay oval in Southwest Kansas with fans admitted for $5 with a ticket from a driver.  Otherwise, general admission is $12.

Drivers and fans alike will be treated to all variety of giveaways throughout the night of racing that includes the Hambelton Racing DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.

To cap the evening off, if a selected driver can race from the 20th starting position in his feature event to take the win then a lucky fan holding the winning ticket can win $10,000. 

Friday marks the fourth round of championship chase action at Dodge City Raceway Park. Racing action gets under way at 7:30 p.m.

Inclement weather postpones Modified Stampede at Dodge City 

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – Mother Nature continues her domination of Dodge City Raceway Park in 2018 with Saturday’s scheduled event atop the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas postponed due to inclement weather. With forecasts of excessive rain and frigid temperatures, Saturday’s sixth annual Modified Stam­pede has been rescheduled for Saturday night, May 19.  The event will feature a $750 winner’s share for IMCA Modifieds with Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks in action as well. With the opener nixed for a third consecutive time, Dodge City Raceway Park will now kick off the 2018 season on Saturday, May 5, with a full card of championship chase action.

IMCA Stock Car Shootout this Saturday at Dodge City

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – Dodge City Raceway Park fires back to action this weekend with the $1,000-to-win IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Shootout presented by Winner’s Circle Feedyards and Factory Direct Fireworks on Saturday night atop the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas.  Last year’s special event for the Stock Cars evolved into a true “Shootout” with Hill City’s Kyle Pfeifer battling past Jason Rogers in the closing rounds to secure the win. Saturday’s racing action gets under way at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets for are $12 for adults while children 11 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.  Pit passes are $30. Along with the Stock Cars it will also be a full slate of championship chase action for the Hambelton Racing DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMod and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Dodge City Raceway Park practice this Sunday

By Lonnie Wheatley  DODGE CITY, Kan. – With the opening weekend of racing action at Dodge City Raceway Park little more than one week away, the track will host an open practice this Sunday, June 14. Sunday’s practice session will get under way at 5 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m.  Practice sessions will take place upon both the 3/8-mile clay oval and the 1/7-mile Little DCRP clay oval.  Pit gates open at 3 p.m. with general admission gates open at 3 p.m.   Pit admission is $20 per person with admission to the grandstands free. Sunday’s practice precedes a season that kicks off Saturday, June 20, with the Hobby Stock Roundup, featuring a $750-to-win and $75-to-start feature event for IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.  It will also be the opening round of championship chase action for the Dodge City Raceway Park Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars.  The opening round of action for Micros and Go Karts atop the Little DCRP clay oval follows at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 21.  Detailed schedule information [Read More]
