MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 26) – Two drivers earned first feature wins on a busy Friday night at  Marshalltown Speedway, Dalton Simonsen in the IMCA Sunoco Late Models and Kyle Everts in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. 

Kaden Reynolds doubled up in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.  Make-up features were also won by Darrel DeFrance, Late Model, Joel Rust in the IMCA Modifieds and Brian Schrage in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.

Other winners from the regular night’s racing went to Tom Berry Jr., Modified, Jeff Mueller in the Stock Cars and Kyle Olson in a thriller for the Northern SportMods. 

Simonsen got past early leader DeFrance on lap five and from there on pulled away to secure his first-ever win, which was accompanied by the $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus.  DeFrance fin­ished second, just holding off Logan Duffy in third.

Jason Hall led the make-up feature for the Stock Cars from the drop of the green and was poised for a win until he slipped up in turn one, allowing Everts to take over the number one spot.

The final laps saw Damon Murty make his usual hard charge through the field, coming from the 11th starting spot, but he would fall just short and finish second. Third went to Todd Reitzler.

Three Memorial Weekend Cornbelt Clash dates for IMCA STARS Mod Lites

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Memorial Weekend Cornbelt Clash dates take IMCA STARS Mod Lites to Marshalltown Speedway, Boone Speedway and Stuart Speedway for $500 to win features each night. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start each May 28, 29 and 30 feature with a $30 entry fee each night.  Marshalltown opens the gates at 5:15 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gates at Boone open at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday racing starts at 6 p.m. and on Sunday, gates at Stuart open at 5 p.m. and racing follows 7 p.m. hot laps.  The Yoshimura bonus will be paid on Sunday, with $250 going to the winner, $150 to the runner-up and $100 to the third place driver. The driver racing all three nights and finishing with the top point total also takes home $100 in cash. Other awards will be given by Hoosier Tire and Rod End Supply. Marshalltown season opener wins to Rust, Jaennette, Olson, Schluetter, Huggins, Gill

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (May 13, 2022) – After three straight weather outs, the Marshalltown Speedway finally got its season opener in the books on Friday night. It was also API Solutions Salute to the Military night, and all veterans and active service members were admitted free to a full night of racing action. Carters collect Dale DeFrance Memorial checkers at Marshalltown Speedway

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Aug. 4) – Rain may have delayed the festivities one week, but the celebration was bigger than ever Friday night for the Dale DeFrance Memorial at Marshalltown Speedway. An impressive 177 race teams packed the pits and a standing-room only crowd was on-hand for the sixth annual event, which was postponed from last week due to heavy rain that fell at the track shortly after the program got underway. To say the wait was worth it for the Carter family was an understatement as Cayden Carter and Brayton Carter each earned big paydays for their feature wins. Cayden Carter, driving the Maguire DeJong #30, led all 34 laps to score the win in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature. Carter extended his advantage to half a straightaway each time following a pair of restarts over the first half of the event.
