From 18th, Knutson captures Hobby checkers at Boone

BOONE, Iowa (June 13) – Eric Knutson earned hard charger and feature win honors after starting 18th in the Saturday IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature at Boone Speedway.

Knutson got past Bryant Johnson in the closing laps to capture the win.  Following second place Johnson was Daniel Smith in third, Curt Reed took fourth, and Jeremiah Andrews was fifth.

Ricky Thornton Jr. followed his king of the hill triumph with the IMCA Modified checkers after starting 12th while Doug Smith repeated his winning ways in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod main.

Troy Jerovetz took command at lap four of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car 20-lap feature and dominated to the checkers. 

Race cars were not the first to hit the track at Boone Speedway on Saturday. It was the Boone High School Class of 2020 that got to parade down the frontstretch and take the checkered flag first.

Inaugural $2,500 to win King of the Katwalks for IMCA Stock Cars set for June 25 at Boone

BOONE, Iowa (June 14, 2022) – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will run for $2,500 to win at the Fox Welding/Vermeer King of the Katwalks presented by VanEaton Pork on Saturday, June 25 at Boone Speedway. Total purse for the inaugural special is nearly $14,000 with the winner becoming eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. The runner-up earns $2,000 with $1,500 paid for third, $1,000 for fourth, $750 for fifth, $500 for sixth, $450 for seventh, $400 for eighth, $350 for ninth, $300 for 10th and a minimum of $250 to start. NAPA Racing Fan Zone hosts busy slate off-track Super Nationals activities

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 1, 2023) – The NAPA Racing Fan Zone will be the hub of off-track activities throughout the week of the 41stannual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. McBirnie, Logue, Anderson score Salute to Veterans wins at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 31) – It was Hunting with Heroes Salute to Veterans Night at the Boone Speedway on Saturday, with 205 race cars packing the pits and running before a full grandstand. Jake McBirnie repeated his win from last week in the IMCA Modified division, as did Mike Kennedy in the IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Logan Anderson in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Dylan Nelson in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks captured their first wins of the year and Johnathon Logue saw his first career win in an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car. The Modifieds ran 25 laps for their main event. Richie Gustin started on the outside front row and shot into the lead, seeking the $3,000 payday. McBirnie started fourth and tucked in immediately to run in second.  Gustin took to the top of the track while McBirnie challenged on the low side.
