Brown impresses at Boone

BOONE, Iowa (June 6) – Kyle Brown was impressive in taking the IMCA Modified victory Satur­day at Boone Speedway. 

Gatlin Leytham and Jimmy Gustin led the field to green but by corner one, sixth starter Brown was already in front.  From there on, Brown showed total domination in securing his first win of the 2020 season.  

Joel Rust chased Brown across the finish line in second place, Tim Ward came from ninth start­ing to finish third.

Donavon Smith was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner and Doug Smith paced the Karl Kus­toms Northern SportMods. Miciah Hidlebaugh took the checkers in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main.

Fans were allowed back in the grandstands at Boone for the first time this season. More than one driver expressed in victory lane just how much the fans being there meant to them.

Racing continues next week with early start times.  Pits open at 3:30 p.m., grandstands at 4 p.m., hot laps 5 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.

$5,000 to win King of the Katwalks feature at Boone’s July 20 IMCA Stock Car special

BOONE, Iowa (July 12, 2024) – Prestige and even more money are on the line for IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers at the upcoming Fox Welding/Vermeer King of the Katwalks presented by VanEaton Pork next Saturday, July 20 at Boone Speedway. The Stock Cars run for $5,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start at the third annual special. Total purse for the King of the Katwalks main event is $18,500 with the winner earning a guaranteed starting spot in the upcoming B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. The runner-up earns $2,500 with $2,000 paid for third, $1,500 for fourth, $1,000 for fifth, $750 for sixth, $500 for seventh, $450 for eighth, $400 for ninth, $350 for 10th and $300 for 11th. Dates determined for two Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational voting sessions

BOONE, Iowa – Dates have been announced for two voting sessions to elect 28 of the 30 starters in the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Three drivers from each of the five regions for IMCA Modifieds will be elected in polling conducted between July 23 and 26; another 13 advance from an at-large pool of the next 25 top vote recipients be­tween July 30 and Aug. 2. All voting will be conducted through the IMCA Facebook page. One hundred and nineteen drivers (listed on page 10 of this month’s newsletter) are already vote eligible for the 15th annual Invitational, to be held Sept. 7 during the IMCA Speed­way Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway.
