US 36, Bethany open with IMCA points, spectators

OSBORN, Mo. – US 36 Raceway will open May 8 and Bethany Speedway on May 9 with all IMCA points awarded both nights.

“Response has already been great and we’re expecting tremendous car counts both Friday and Saturday,” said promoter Jon Boller Jr. 

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, E3 Spark Plugs Missouri State and track points will be given for IMCA Modified, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod divisions at both Friday and Saturday shows. Central and North Central Region points will be available to Modified drivers.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 6 p.m., hot laps are at approximately 7:30 p.m. with racing to follow. 

Social distancing guidelines will be maintained in both the pit area and grandstand; track officials will ask each team to stay within their respective pit area and that everyone attending wear a mask or other appropriate facial covering. 

Drivers are also asked to pre-register through MyRacePass or the track website. Pit passes are $35 while grandstand admission is $15 for adults and free for kids ages 12 and under.

Racing both nights will be broadcast by Speed Shift TV. 

An open practice session is also planned Saturday, May 2 at Osborne from 2-8 p.m. Pit gates open at 1 p.m. Pit passes will be $25 and the grandstands will be closed.

$5 wristband admission Saturday at Bethany

By Rick Staley BETHANY, Mo, – Bethany Speedway is the place to be this Saturday, June 30 for Toot Toot Family Restaurant and Lounge Night at the Races. A grandstand wristband from US 36 Raceway the night before gets fans grandstand admission at Bethany for only $5. Divisions in action include the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods. Intermission sees a watermelon eating contest for kids and kids at heart with prizes given throughout the crowd. The green flag drops at 8 p.m.

IMCA Modifieds headline US 36 Memorial Weekend special

OSBORN, Mo. – IMCA Modifieds chase a $1,000 check and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational bal­lot berth in their Memorial Weekend special at US 36 Raceway. A minimum of $150 will be paid to start the Friday, May 24 Modified Madness main event. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods are also on the card, running for $500 to win and $85 to start. There is no entry fee and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central Region, E3 Spark Plugs Missouri State and track points will be awarded. Pit gates at Osborn open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. Racing follows 7:30 p.m. hot laps. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and military, $6 for kids ages 7-12 and free for six and under. Pit passes are $35. Patience pays off for defending champ at US 36

By Jacob Blair OSBORN, Mo. (May 17) – Steven Clancy showed why he holds the top spot in Karl Kustoms North­ern SportMod point standings at US 36 Raceway Friday night. The defending track champion waited through the early laps before picking up the pace and work­ing his way through the field. Midway through the race he got to the back bumper of race leader Coleman Browning. He made the move for the lead and picked up win number three this year. Browning finished se­cond, while Chris Wright finished third. Matt Lent looked strong early but faded to fourth and Randy Smith Jr. rounded out the top five.  Mike Nichols also showed patience as he worked his way through the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car field, then on the backside of halfway he moved around Mich Ross to take the lead.  While Nichols checked out to take the win, Ross and Connor Masoner battled for second.
