US 36 Raceway to crown champions this Friday

OSBORN, Mo. – Another season at US 36 Raceway has flown by and drivers have the opportunity to put their names in the record books this Friday, Aug. 16.

The early part of the season was marred with rainouts and cancellations. As the season started to reach the end, drivers started to find a rhythm in the weekly schedule and the season-long battle is set to conclude this weekend for the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.

As championship battles are settled on the track, there is also a lot of fun to be had in the stands. Thanks to the help from Vicki Davis 66 Promotions, it is Hat it Up Night at US 36 Raceway. First, it is hats off to the ladies, so for each adult ticket sold, one lady will get in free. There will also be a competition where men can choose to dress like a lady for a chance to win $100, with the top three receiving US 36 hats. For the kids, they can make and bring a funny hat. The first 25 kids who enter will receive a checkered race bear. There will also be a most popular driver vote, and the top 10 in that competition will model the kids hats to determine the top three.

Pits open at 5 p.m. and the grandstands at 6 p.m. Hot laps start at 7:30 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for seniors and military, $5 for children seven to 12 years of age and children six and younger are free.

Although the regular season comes to a close this week at US 36, there are several special events remaining. The big one is the inaugural Missouri IMCA Nationals featuring the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods on Oct. 9-12.

Danley dominates Bud Shootout IMCA RaceSaver Sprints

By Jacob Blair OSBORN, Mo. (July 3) – It took three tries, but the Bud Shootout at US 36 Raceway proved worth the wait. The Sprint Series of Nebraska portion of the Bud Shootout witnessed a dominating performance from second place starter Joey Danley. Danley led the entire 25-lap feature in comfortable fashion on his way to the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win.  Tyler Drueke moved up from fifth to finish second, while Stuart Snyder drove up from ninth to finish third. The hard charger of the race was Monty Ferriera, as he finished fourth after starting 15th. Kenny Potter completed the top five. The IMCA Modified feature became a tale of two halves of the race. Half number one went to Brandon Williams as he looked to have the car to beat. While leading comfortably, however, a lapped car made contact with Williams, forcing him pitside and ending his night. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars chase $1,200 check at U.S. 36

OSBORN, Mo. – Friday, Sept. 18, marks the penultimate points race at U.S. 36 Raceway for the 2020 championship season.  Along with the continued points battles, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars are racing for $1,200 to win and $250 to start in a draw and redraw show. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods are also racing. Pits open at 4 p.m. The grandstands open at 6 p.m., with hot laps at 7:30 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. Tick­ets for the event are $20 for general admission, $18 for senior and military and children 12 and younger are free. Pit passes are $35.  The final two events at U.S. 36 Raceway are Championship Night on Friday, Sept. 25 and the second annual Missouri IMCA Nationals on Oct. 8-10. Racing action returns to the high banks of US 36 Raceway

By Rick Staley  OSBORN, Mo. – Exciting racing action like none other roars back on the beautiful high banks of US 36 Raceway tonight (Friday) with IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern Sport Mods on the Aug. 27 program.  The HWY 36 Auto and Diesel Shocker Chassis Shootout is this Friday Night as well with Mich Ross, Rickie Bobby, Shadren Turner, Nate Barnes, Carson Masoner and JJ Baumli ready to compete. One lucky fan can leave with $200 cash in their pocket if they choose the winning driver, if not, they still receive $100 for playing so be sure and sign up at the beer shack for a chance to win.
