IMCA Modifieds vie for $1,100 top check at Cotton Bowl

PAIGE, Texas (March 20, 2023) – Opening night this Saturday marks the 10th consecutive year of sanctioning for three IMCA divisions at Cotton Bowl Speedway. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods will be joined by the Southern United Sprints in the March 25 lidlifter at Paige. “We worked the track all off-season. It looks really, really good,” said promoter Mary Ann Naumann. “We’re excited about opening night and we’re glad to have the Sprints back. We love the series.”  Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Opening ceremonies are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow.  Tickets are available online or may be purchased at the gate.

HUFFMAN, Texas (April 19, 2024) – It’s four races into the inaugural South Texas IMCA Modified Series and Promoter Jacob Hortch has already seen a lot that he likes. The inaugural series is averaging better than 20 Modified entries, with competitive racing every night and just one repeat winner so far. Even the T-shirt sales have been pretty good. “We’re definitely proud of the car counts we’re bringing. ABILENE, Texas (Feb. 9) – Due to the upcoming cancellation of the other stock car tour scheduled the week before the Sniper Speed Lone Star Tour, IMCA will extend the $500 loyalty bonus to all IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers registered to compete in the Lone Star Tour by 5 p.m. CST today (Tuesday). Registered drivers who ran in January at Corpus Christi will be eligible for that bonus. All tour races now pay those registered drivers a minimum of $1,500 to win.  The big week of racing starts with the 24th annual Ice Breaker at Abilene Speedway on Feb. 19, followed by opening night of the fourth annual tour at Abilene.  The winner of the Friday, Feb. 19 Stock Car feature earns $3,000 while the winner’s share of the Saturday, Feb. 20 feature will be $2,000.
