Sears outruns Bethany foes for first win

BETHANY, Mo. (July 13) – Jeffrey Sears celebrated his first-ever Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature win Saturday at Bethany Speedway.

Jason Nelson took the early lead with close racing in the pack behind him. Nelson continued to lead with Mitchell Morris close on his heels until Sears mounted his charge to the front, passing both for the top spot.

Sears bobbled slightly in turn three, allowing the always-fast and defending track champion Josh Munsen to close in and challenge for the lead with the two racing side-by-side to the checkers. 

Battling wheel-to-wheel and door-to-door, they made slight contact coming to the checkers with Sears picking up his first feature win. As Sears celebrated in NAPA Auto Parts victory lane, Mun­sen settled for second with Colton Nelson coming to the line third.

IMCA RaceSaver Sprints call Bethany Speedway new Missouri home

BETHANY, Mo. – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car drivers have had Jon Boller Jr. on speed dial since his announcement the winged division would be new at his Bethany Speedway this season. Ten dates, all but one of them on Saturday nights, are on the 2020 schedule at Bethany. Opening night is April 25 with points racing slated through Aug. 29.  Sanctioned Sprints also run Fridays at the Boller-promoted U.S. 36 Raceway in Osborn. “There’s been a lot of interest by drivers who want to run twice a week,” Boller said. “Bethany is only 15 miles or so from the Iowa state line and there are drivers in the Des Moines area who were looking for a place to run on Saturday nights.” “We want to continue building the division and giving those drivers another track to race at 10 nights is one way we can do that,” he continued. Bethany Speedway starts 2021 season on May 22

By Myron Proudfoot  BETHANY, Mo. – Bethany Speedway will open the gates for the fourth straight year in 2021. The same regular divisions will race for the fans, including IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kus­toms Northern SportMods. The United Rebel Sprint Series will also make two appearances. After the May 22 race, there will be two races each month in June (5 and 26), two in July (10 and 24), two in August (7 and 21), then September will have races during the Northwest Missouri State Fair on the 5th and 6th and championship night on the 25th. Bethany Speedway reopened in 2018 after 17 years of only having two races in 2010 and Labor Day week­end fair races for that period of time. Booher bests Bethany foes for first win

(July 28) – Hometown hero Mitch Booher took the lead at the drop of the green and paced every lap on his way to his first-ever Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature win Saturday at Bethany Speedway. Matt Lent challenged Booher every lap but placed a very close second with Steve Stammer third. Colton Nelson edged younger brother and heat winner for fourth. Josh Truman topped the IMCA Modifieds and Anthony Witham topped the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event.
