Drueke delivers Sprint win at Eagle

(June 9) – Nick Beckman grabbed the lead on lap two and held off all challengers in win­ning Saturday’s Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Eagle Raceway. “I’d say it’s been four years since I’ve been on the front stretch here. It feels really good to be back in a Hobby Stock,” he said. “I knew I had to get out front and run away. I’m just glad that I was able to hold off all of the fast drivers.” Scott Bivens got the lead on the 11th circuit in winning the Hoosier Racing Tire IMCA Northern SportMod main. By Greg Soukup  EAGLE, Neb. (May 28, 2022) – A rare visit to his old stomping grounds saw Roy Armstrong back in victory lane at Eagle Raceway Saturday night. The five-time track champion scored his first IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock victory of the season in the Memorial Weekend show at America’s Home Track.  “It’s such a special night to win on Memorial Weekend, not just to win the feature but to remember all of those that we’ve lost, especially the veterans and those in the Armed Forces who fought for our freedom,” Armstrong said post-race. “It’s just awesome to win here. It’s been a while since I won up here (July 24 of 2021) but we are only running one night a week.”  “Beatrice canceled last night so we headed up here tonight,” he explained. “That’s kind of how our schedule will be this year. (May 12) – Steffen Oaks took the lead with four laps left en route to taking the first checkers of his ATV Motorsports IMCA Sport Compact career victory Saturday at Eagle Race­way. His drive to the front started outside row four. “It took me awhile to finally get a win, with several second places, but I finally got it!,” he said post-race. “It was a really fast track tonight, but man, those bumps about got me a few times. I managed to keep it straight and hold on for the win.” Casey Moyer won his first Valentino’s IMCA Hobby Stock feature since the 2012 season and Lance Borgman raced from 10th starting to win the Purdue University IMCA Northern SportMod main event for the third time already this season at Eagle. Jordan Grabouski got the lead early in winning the Runner Freight IMCA Modified feature and Tyler Drueke took charge with nine laps remaining in winning the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature.
