SportMod Nationals postponed to June 25

BRITT, Iowa (June 19) – Chalk up a “W” for Mother Nature tonight in Britt. Due to rain, already wet track conditions and a less than stellar forecast, Hancock County Speed­way’s Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod Nationals have been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 10. The MaxYield Seed-sponsored special pays $2,500 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. The evening’s IMCA Modified feature pays $1,000 to win and is both a Fast Shafts All-Star Invita­tional ballot and Wehr’s Dash at the Harris Clash qualifier. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $600 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Iowa State, but no track points will be awarded. BRITT, Iowa (June 7, 2022) – Big money is at stake on a Monday night at Hancock County Speedway, with the $2,500 to win Landus Cooperative IMCA SportMod Nationals set for June 13. Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods are the evening’s spotlight division with a main event that pays $300 to start. Drivers can go to MyRacePass to pay an early entry fee of $75 or pay $100 at the gate. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks all race for $1,000 to win, Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts for $200 to win. Modified and Stock Car winners become eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational, respectively. BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 6) – Tripp Gaylord’s latest first-time track visit led him to victory lane at Hancock County Speedway.  Gaylord raced from 10th starting to win Friday’s IMCA Modified Night of 1,000 Stars main event, and $3,000, at Hancock County Speedway.  “This was our first time at Britt. Every IMCA Speedweek track is new to us,” the Colorado driver said. “It’s always nice to win the first time you race somewhere. We know that whenever we travel out of town we have to be at the top of our game.”  Jeremy Mills led early in the 50-lapper before Kollin Hibdon ran him down. That pair battled for the lead before the charging Gaylord entered the fray. They ran three-wide for the lead for several laps with Gaylord in charge at the midway break. Lapped traffic became a factor in the second half of the contest. Gaylord ran in heavy traffic the last five laps, beating Hibdon to the checkers by a couple car lengths.
