IMCA Modifieds to headline Arkansas Spring Nationals

BATESVILLE, Ark. – Qualifying for the World IMCA Stock Car Championship presented by IMCA.TV gets under Wednesday night, with drivers from 16 states already registered for the $50,000 to win special at Batesville Motor Speedway.  The top-paying event for The Class Too Tough To Tame brings the 50th anniversary season at Batesville to a close Oct. 13-16. Thirty cars start Saturday’s main event, running for shares of a $125,000 purse with $15,000 paid to the runner-up, $10,000 for third, $5,000 for fourth, $3,000 for fifth and a minimum of $1,500 to start.  Top two drivers from each of 15 heat races transfer to nightly ‘A’ features Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with the top nine from those races advancing to Saturday’s big show. BATESVILLE, Ark. – IMCA Modified drivers will be racing for $50,000 to win when they hit the track for Race For Hope 71 at Batesville Motor Speedway this fall. The Saturday, Sept. 25 main event purse is more than $120,000 with a minimum of $1,500 paid to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central Region and KMJ Performance Arkansas State points will be given for the Fast Shafts All-Star qualifier. Top nine drivers in qualifiers Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Sept. 22-24 advance to the main event grid. “B,” “C” and “D” features are also on the Saturday card, with the top two “B” finishers” transferring to the main event. (Sept. 27) – Kyle Strickler backed up his overall quick time qualifying run on Tuesday with a dominating performance in Wednesday night’s Race For Hope 74 IMCA Modified preliminary feature. The Mooresville, N.C., driver started in the middle of the front row for the three-wide start, which ran 10 rows deep. Strickler jumped out to the lead on the opening lap as Wendell Wallace and Steven Bowers Jr. settled into second and third, respectively. Strickler quickly opened up a full straightaway lead by lap five, while Wallace and Bowers fought for the runner-up position. As Strickler approached lapped traffic at the midway point of the 25-lap event, he didn’t waste any time getting around slower cars.
