EAGLE, Neb. – Two words of advice from Roger Hadan regarding the upcoming RaceSaver Nationals?

Seventy IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car drivers have already taken that advice and are signed up to compete in the sixth annual event, to be held Aug. 30-Sept. 2 at Eagle Raceway.

“Go online and pre-enter. It’s only $15 and it gets you a pit stall,” said RaceSaver boss and Eagle promoter Hadan. “Drivers who don’t enter by Aug. 23 will pay $50 and won’t be guaranteed a pit stall.”

Joining a strong contingent of home state hot shoes thus far will be RaceSaver competitors making the tow to the Nebraska speedplant from California, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Caro­lina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas and Virginia.

Hadan also confirmed that Thomas Weeks from the Discovery Channel’s Misfit Garage will be grand mar­shal for the event. Weeks and crew will spend the week at the event.

What’s guaranteed to be the biggest RaceSaver event of the season pays $2,500 to win and a minimum of $1,250 to start the Sept. 2 feature. Qualifying features on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 both pay $700 to win while the top prize for Saturday’s Jake Ita Memorial race is $1,000.

All RaceSaver Nationals drivers must be licensed IMCA members and are required to have competed at a minimum of three IMCA sanctioned RaceSaver events prior to the Labor Day Weekend.

Tech inspection begins at 9 a.m. Thursday. Aug. 30. An open practice starts at 6 p.m. and precedes race of champions qualifying.

Pit passes are $15 on Thursday and $25 each night Friday & Saturday. Sunday pit passes are $30. Dis­counted three-day pit passes are available for $75.

Adult grandstand admission is $13 on Friday, $15 on Satur­day and $18 on Sunday. Kids ages 6-12 are $5 and five and under get in free each night.

A three-day grandstand pass is $40 and can be purchased online or by calling the Eagle Raceway office at 402 238-2595.

RaceSaver Nationals is presented by Precise Racing Products. Mach-1 Sport Compacts are also on the card Fri­day, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods on Saturday and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks on Sunday.

Eagle wraps up season with championship night show

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 29) – Five drivers won feature events and five others put the finishing touches on track championship campaigns Saturday at Eagle Raceway. Trevor Noonan took advantage of a restart with five laps left in getting the lead and then the win in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature. Cole Wayman was fourth in taking the track crown. Don Hall Jr. led the last nine times around the track in topping the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. Despite having a transmission failure during the race that lead to a 17th place finish, Jeff Ware repeated as the points champion. Eagle checkers fly for Lovegrove

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 3) – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win number one on the season came Satur­day at Eagle Raceway for Doug Lovegrove. Lovegrove started on the pole and was quickly out front. Mike Boston passed Chase Weiler for third on lap seven with Adam Gullion moving up to fourth. From there to the finish it was a tale of two different lines with Lovegrove hugging the bottom and Brandon Horton, Boston and Gullion pounding the cushion.  Lovegrove moved through the lapped traffic and extended his lead at the end to a straightaway with Horton coming home second, Boston third and Gullion fourth. “It’s been way too long. Danley races to RaceSaver Sprint checkers at Eagle

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (June 23) – Joey Danley became the first repeat IMCA Sprint RaceSaver Sprint Car winner of the season at Eagle Raceway Saturday night. Danley snagged the lead near midway and beat Trevor Grossenbacher to the checkers. “After two rough weeks we got it done again and that feels pretty good. The track was tacky and rough. It was a ‘Cowboy Up’ track, and that’s what we like because it puts the race in the hands of the driver,” Dan­ley said. “We started eighth and ran up to the front quick, but a couple of cars got crossed up there and Trevor got by me.
