Outagamie win goes to Arneson

(Aug. 2) – Although Chase Parker led every lap of the IMCA Modified feature Friday at Outagamie Speedway, the race to the checkers wasn’t easy by any means.  Defending track champion Marcus Yarie worked his way from row four to the runner-up position midway through the contest. With five circuits remaining, Yarie dove inside for the lead but lapped track halted his pursuit and Parker picked up his second win of the season.   Travis Van Straten jumped out as the early leader in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars over Jer­emy Wiitala. The duo ran door-to-door for the top spot until Brandon Czarapata made it three-wide.  Czarapata slipped by down low to take the lead on lap five. The battle for second became lively as Josh Mroczkowski and point leader Eric Arneson began to tussle with Van Straten. Mroczkow­ski secured the runner-up spot with five laps remaining.  Although Mroczkowski closed in late it was Czarapta scoring his second feature win of the sea­son. SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 27) – Josh Long was the Sunday IMCA Modified feature winner at Out­agamie Speedway. Joey Taycher paced the opening laps with Long, Marcus Yarie and Mike Mullen giving chase. Long muscled his way down low past Taycher on lap eight for the top spot. Yarie closed in on Long, making the pass for the lead on lap 14. The caution flew simultaneously for debris and scoring went back to the last completed lap. Up against curfew the race was check­ered with Long receiving the win. Yarie had to settle for a frustrating second, Mullen was third, Lance Arneson placed fourth and Taycher completed the top five. Jeremy Christians raced from row two to the early lead of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Travis Van Straten followed suit into the runner-up position and worked high and low on Chris­tians. By Edward Anschutz  SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 31) – Night six of the season saw 120-plus cars on action and Jamie Schmidt proved to be the fastest of the 41 IMCA Modifieds entered. Mark Schuenemann shot to the lead of the Modified feature from the front row as Schmidt, Ja­son Czarapata and Benji LaCrosse gave chase. Schuenemann worked the outside groove with the competition hot on his heals running the same groove. A caution with three laps remaining changed everything. As the race resumed, Schuenemann went to the bottom groove, which allowed Schmidt to slip by up top. Schmidt pulled away to score the win and a clean sweep to boot. Lucas Lamberies made a late race charge to place second, Schuenemann was third, LaCrosse took fourth and Jason Czarapata completed the top five. After a rough start, the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature resumed with Tim Paitrick pacing the field be­fore Eric Arneson stormed by for the top spot on lap five.
