Hancock County’s Hobo 100 has $4,000 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car top prize 

BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 7) – After checking out his tires, Kollin Hibdon checked out for a $4,000 Saturday afternoon payday at Hancock County Speedway.  Hibdon led all 40 laps of the Night of 10,000 Stars IMCA Modified main event at Britt in the finale for IMCA Speedweek.  “I got a good jump on the start and kept the car straight the first 20 laps to conserve my tires,” said Hibdon, who promptly checker out his Hoosiers during the mandatory pitstop at midway. “After looking at my tires I knew we’d be pretty good. I just made sure to keep the car straight and cruised.”  The young Nevada driver now owns seven Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying victories, six of them coming this season. BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 11) – Following his latest visit to victory lane at Hancock County Speedway, Hunter Marriott could lay claim to a singular achievement. Marriott topped Saturday’s Bob Shryock Memorial All Star event, a fast-paced IMCA Modified 40-lapper that ran green to checkered and paid $3,000 to win. Marriott has now won all three of the traditional August specials at Britt … the Night of 1,000 Stars on Thursday, the Night of 10,000 Stars in 2016 and 2017, and now the Shryock “We seem to get around that place pretty good,” acknowledged Marriott, who passed Jeremy Mills for the lead near midway and outran ‘B’ qualifier Ricky Thornton Jr. for his latest Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying victory. “The racing is always pretty good there.” While the fourth starting Marriott ran the lower line most of the way, he did go to the high side to get around Mills. By Chad Meyer  BRITT, Iowa (June 16) – Alec Fett raced to a career highlight win Tuesday night, getting the best of Brian Osantowski at Hancock County Speedway’s MaxYield Seed SportMod Nationals.  The $2,500 Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod victory came in a nailbiter as Fett had to race his way back to the front and outrun Osantowski and his brother Colby to the stripe. Fett had won the first heat and finished second in the dash, which put him in the preferred outside line of row for the initial start of the main event. Alec led by narrow margin with Colby on the low line. Osantowski had opted to not run the dash to save his car, forcing him to start 10th in the main, but by mid-point of the feature was challenging Alec Fett. They raced several times side by side in the second half of the event with Fett narrowly maintaining his advantage at the stripe.
