IMCA Modifieds chase $3,000 check at I-30’s Ed Jordan Memorial 

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Promoter Tracey Clay caught lightning in a bottle last season with the addition of IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars to weekly programs at I-30 Speedway.  She’ll do that again in 2021, sanctioning the new IMCA STARS Mod Lite division at her central Arkansas speedplant.  “We have run this class 15 years or so. They started as dwarf cars and became Mod Lites. I love the class – they’re a great group of drivers,” Clay said. “I talked to (STARS president and now division director) Jimmy May at our Mod Lite special last fall about the IMCA sanction. LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 20, 2022) – IMCA STARS Mod Lites run for shares of a galaxy-sized purse at their Short Track Nationals May 6 and 7 at I-30 Speedway. Winner of the fourth annual event, presented by Bumper to Bumper and sanctioned by IMCA for the first time, earns $3,000 with a minimum of $300 paid to start the feature. Top three finishers in Friday night heat races earn $50, $30 and $20, respectively, with winners advancing to the main event grid. Last-chance qualifying races and the feature are on Saturday. Non-qualifier pay is $150. Yoshimura bonuses of $250, $150 and $100 will be paid to the top three finishing eligible drivers. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded. Entry fee of $100 includes the driver’s pit pass if paid by May 4. Pit passes are $30 both days. LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 27) – The already much-accomplished Jeff Taylor raced to a couple career firsts Saturday at I-30 Speedway. Taylor gained the lead early and led the rest of the way, holding off Tyler Stevens following a late restart to win the seventh annual Ed Jordan Memorial IMCA Modified main event. “I’ve won qualifiers and heat races here before but this was the first feature I’ve won at Little Rock,” Taylor said following the $2,000, 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying victory. “It seems like the last four or five races we were always one spot short and could never pull it off.” J.T Goodson, Clay Norris and Drew Armstrong rounded out the top five.
