CRYSTAL, Mich. (June 23) – Myron DeYoung took the early lead and then cruised to take the Lane Automotive IMCA Modified victory Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway.

Kody Johnson was second, followed by A.J. Ward, Mitchell Hunt and Nick Stormzand.

Crystal mourns loss of Brandon Bogart

By Verwayne Greenhoe CRYSTAL, Mich. (May 14, 2022) – Crystal Motor Speedway canceled events scheduled for Saturday night due to wet conditions and the threat of rain. Racing aside, the track would like to take a moment to recognize our loss. Early in the afternoon of May 11, Crystal Motor Speedway and Montcalm County lost an employee, a faithful friend, family member, and a wonderful human being. Brandon Bogart had worked at the track since he was 12 and was a fireman for Crystal Township, Home Township and the Stanton Community fire departments. He had been fighting cancer for over a year at Metro Hospital and finally laid down his fireman’s coat and went ‘home.’ Brandon fought the disease with courage and humor. Harnick, Brillhart are great at Crystal’s Great Lakes Nationals

CRYSTAL, Mich. (Sept. 14, 2024) – A career-best season for Austin Harnick got even better Saturday night, while Rob Brillhart made history of his own at Crystal Motor Speedway. Harnick won the 32nd annual Great Lakes Nationals feature for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and $5,000 while Brillhart topped the $2,000 to win IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main, in that division’s debut at Michigan’s premier sanctioned event. Not much more than a month removed from his 22nd birthday, Harnick had the second quickest time in Friday qualifying and started outside Mitchell Hunt on the front row for the Modified 40-lapper. Winner of the Rage Chassis Race of Champions at Boone the previous weekend, Hunt saw early advantages erased by a couple cautions. Ward shines at Crystal

CRYSTAL, Mich. (April 28) – After venturing to New York for his first IMCA Modified feature win of the season, A.J. Ward raced closer to home and got his second Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway. The two-time defending Dirt Works Eastern Region champion and 2017 Crystal track king bested Brenten DeYoung and Brady Hollenbeck in the race to the checkers. Matt Szecsodi and Austin Wonch rounded out the top five.

Battle for the Belt Brings Two Nights of Action to WaKeeney Speedway Oct. 16-17

(Sept. 21, 2026) — Two nights of racing and a pair of All-Star Invitational qualifying opportunities headline the Battle for the Belt at WaKeeney Speedway on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16-17. Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods, Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts will compete in complete shows both nights following an open practice Thursday, Oct. 15. Saturday’s program will carry additional significance for the Modifieds and Stock Cars. The $3,000-to-win Modified feature will serve as a qualifying event for the 2027 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational, while the $3,000-to-win Stock Car feature will be a qualifier for the 2027 B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational. Pettit Shootout Brings Two Nights of Action to Watsonville Speedway Oct. 2-3

(Sept. 21, 2026) — Two complete nights of racing, a pair of Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying events, and a 103-lap Saturday Modified main event highlight the 16th annual Pettit Shootout at Watsonville Speedway on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2-3. Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds and Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods will compete both nights, with each program serving as a separate show. There will be no lock-ins from Friday to Saturday, putting every competitor back on equal footing for the second night. The Pettit Shootout is run in memory of Jim Pettit and Pat Pettit, the parents of event promoter Jim Pettit II. The number three carries special significance in the event because Pat’s birthday was Jan. 3, and that connection is reflected throughout the weekend’s format. Shatzer Schools Virginia Sprint Series Field at Natural Bridge

(Sept. 19, 2026) — Dylan Shatzer is a schoolteacher by day, but Saturday night he moved the classroom to Natural Bridge Speedway and taught the Virginia Sprint Series field a lesson with a clean sweep of the evening. Shatzer won his heat race before charging to the front of the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature and staying there through the checkered flag. Matthew Mullins was the other heat race winner. Mullins and Billy Hubbard led the feature field to green, with Mullins getting the early advantage while Hubbard settled into second. Shatzer and Daren Bolac followed close behind. Shatzer quickly worked his way around Hubbard for second and immediately began applying pressure to Mullins for the top spot. The eventual winner swept into the lead, with Hubbard moving into second. Behind them, Bolac and Mullins battled for third while Jerald Harris began working his way forward from fifth.
