Thompson, Roth are IMCA winners at Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 24) – Sunday racing action at Dubuque Speedway provided the fans with a thrilling night of action packed plenty of wheel-to-wheel action on Casey’s General Store Night at the Races.

Derek Thompson found the tacky track to his liking in scoring the 20-lap Merfeld Auto IMCA Modified feature. Thompson led the most laps in taking the checkers ahead of Austin Moyer and Matt Short.

Jason Roth won his second consecutive GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Northern SportMod main event. Roth took the point position after the midway portion of the 18-lap main and went on to cross under the flag stand ahead of Gage Neal and Troy Bauer.

Season championships Sunday at Dubuque

By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa – This Sunday, Aug. 26, Dubuque Hose & Hydraulics will present the 2018 season championship races at Dubuque Speedway. Track championships will be decided in both the Merfeld Brothers Auto IMCA Modified and GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Northern SportMod divisions. Fans in attendance on Sunday night will have an opportunity to win tickets to the 41st annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic. A drawing from the ticket stubs will be held prior to the features on and three lucky fans will win three-day Yankee tickets. Farley Speedway will host the Yankee Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 30-Sept. 1.

Sunoco bonuses awarded at Independence, Dubuque this weekend

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (June 1, 2023) – Sunoco Race Fuels bonuses will be awarded when IMCA Late Models hit the track for big events this weekend at Independence Motor Speedway and at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. The divisional title sponsor awards $250 bonuses to feature winners on Saturday, June 3 during the Hall of Fame Night show at Indee and Sunday, June 4 on Fan Appreciation Night at Dubuque. Drivers can get the bonus one time in a season; the $250 will be awarded to the top finishing non-winning driver any night the winner has previously received the bonus. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow Saturday at Independence, where pit passes are $30 for adults, $15 for kids ages 6-14 and free for five and under. Maquoketa, Dubuque Deery events postponed

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 13) – Forecasts calling for less than pleasant temperatures Saturday and Sunday have resulted in postponements of Deery Brothers Summer Series events at Maquoketa Speedway and at Dubuque Speedway. Both IMCA Late Model tour events are to be rescheduled. The 33rd annual Deery Series now opens at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton with a $2,000 to win, minimum $300 to start main event next Saturday, April 20. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Spectator admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and free for kids ages 12 and under when accompanying a paid adult. Inaugural Texas Showdown Set for Jan. 7–10 at I-37

By Ben Deatherage PLEASANTON, Texas (Nov. 12, 2025) — The first-ever Texas Showdown will take center stage at I-37 Speedway January 7–10, 2026, featuring four consecutive nights of Speedway Motors IMCA-sanctioned action for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars. A practice session on Tuesday, January 6 will precede the racing program, followed by a free BBQ gathering for all competitors and crews. Each night’s IMCA Modified feature will serve as a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifier, while the IMCA Stock Cars will race for B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying status Thursday through Saturday.
