Checks get bigger for Cardinal’s Sheen Memorial Shootout

EUNICE, N.M. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars get top billing at Cardinal Speedway’s Kelly Sheen Memorial Shootout on Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27.

Winner’s share of the purse for the ninth annual event has been increased to $3,000. Taking the green in the Stock Car feature pays a minimum of $200.

Qualifying is Saturday with 25-lap features on the Sunday program. Bigger paydays have been announced for the other sanctioned divisions as well.

IMCA Modifieds now race for $2,000 to win and $150 to start their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier while Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods race for $1,400 to win and $75 to start. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks race for $800 to win and $75 to start.

All feature winners receive a 55-gallon drum of fuel in addition to their share of the purse and $100 will be paid to the hard charger in each division. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and New Mexico State points will be awarded.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. Mountain Time Saturday and at 4 p.m. Sunday. The draw closes at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. both days.

Spectator admission is $10 and kids six and under get in free. Car and driver is $35 and pit passes are $20.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and an open practice runs from 7-10 p.m. Friday, May 25. General admis­sion for that session is free while pit passes are $20. Food and beverages following in the pit area are provided by Kendall’s Kountry Meat Market.

White takes home biggest share of green from Cardinal’s 10th annual Sheen Memorial

(July 6) – What a difference from a year ago.  Dustin White didn’t complete a lap at the 2018 Kelly Sheen Memorial Shootout, pulling off with fuel issues before even seeing the green flag.  Now fast forward to Saturday night when he took home the biggest share of the green after win­ning Cardinal Speedway’s 10th annual event. Deming gets IMCA Stock Car job done at Cardinal’s Sheen Memorial

EUNICE, N.M. (July 4) – Colby Deming got the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win he’s always wanted Saturday night.  Deming led all 30 laps of Cardinal Speedway’s Kelly Sheen Memorial Shootout, taking home $1,500 along with the prestigious checkers.  “This is a win I’ve wanted since I got in a Stock Car. IMCA Stock Cars headline Cardinal’s 10th annual Sheen Memorial

EUNICE, N.M. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars take top billing at Cardinal Speedway’s 10th annual Kelly Sheen Memorial Topless Shootout July 4-6. Stock Cars race for $2,000 to win their 40-lapper on Saturday night, with a mandatory pit stop at halfway. Drivers will be allowed to make any changes to their car at that point; any of those changing a tire or tires will be required to restart from the back of the field.  Drivers drawing front row starting spots have the option to start from the back and earn an additional $1,000 if they can win the main event. The feature pays a minimum of $125 to start with a $400 hard charger prize.
