Ryan captures Davenport IMCA Late Model checkers

DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 11) – Matt Ryan collected his first Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model feature win of the season at Davenport Speedway on Friday night.

Ryan wrestled the lead from Chad Holladay on lap seven and led the rest to the checkers.  Lapped traffic and a caution flag gave Holladay a couple chances to get to Ryan’s bumper but he had to settle for second. Rob Toland finished a close third.

Toland rolled to his second Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified feature win of the season at Davenport. After an opening lap incident, Toland moved up to the front row for the restart.  That was all Rob needed. Toland sped away from the field and cruised to an easy victory. Bryce Garnhart finished second with Chris Zogg third.

Dustin Schram won his first Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMod feature this year. Andrew Burk edged out Brandon Setser for second.

Weedon Memorial for IMCA Modifieds on Friday card at Davenport 

DAVENPORT, Iowa (Aug. 11, 2022) – A $1,000 to win feature for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds is on the card this Friday night, at Davenport Speedway’s Ron Weedon Memorial.  The Modified portion of the Aug. 12 program is draw/redraw and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility is at stake as well. IMCA Sunoco Late Models and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods are also on the program. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.  Pit passes are $35 for adults, $20 for kids ages 3-12 and free for two and under. New Davenport promoter already impressed by local support

DAVENPORT, Iowa (March 20, 2024) – Jeff Struck puts a check on his bucket list this season, as the new promoter at Davenport Speedway. The former driver and now Davenport business owner takes charge at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds venue, where IMCA Sunoco Late Models, Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods will run on Friday nights. The 2024 point season at Davenport runs from April 12 to Aug. 23. “I’ve been impressed by the number of local drivers and local businesses that support racing,” Struck said. “The community has shown that Davenport is a racing staple, locally, regionally and nationally.” Sanctioned Late Models have proven to be a weekly staple there since 1998, joined by Modifieds in 2009, Northern SportMods in 2013 and the Hobby Stocks this season. “What I like most about IMCA is that their rules keep everyone on the same level. Kay rallies for Davenport Modified win 

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 4) – Justin Kay raced from the back of the field to the checkers Friday at Davenport Speedway. Six  Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modifieds, one of them six driven by Kay, were involved in a first-lap inci­dent. Kay restarted at the tail of the field but several cautions later, took the lead after a lap 12 re­start. Kay led the remainder of the race to take victory. Kurt Kile worked his way to a second place finish. The Hawkeye Auto IMCA Northern SportMods saw a number of early yellows, however there would be no pass for the lead. Keith Blum started on the front row and survived all the restarts to score the victory. Jared Waterman finished second.
