Egleston Tribute at Merced postponed to April 14

MERCED, Calif. – Inclement weather gets the blame for postponement of the Bill Egleston Tribute originally schedule for this Saturday at Merced Speedway.

IMCA Modifieds now race for $3,000 to win and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $1,800 to win at the rescheduled event Saturday, April 14.

Pit gates open at 1 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. Racing follows 4:45 p.m. hot laps.

Car and driver is $50. Pit passes are $40.

Spectator admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 62 and over, military personnel and students with ID, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for five and under.

The Egleston Tribute is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. Modifieds and Northern SportMods chase IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, California State and track points; Modifieds also contend for Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region points.

Fellow racers and friends contributed to the purse for the event, held in honor of the late IMCA Modified driver. More information is on Facebook.

Al Miller Memorial this weekend at Merced

MERCED, Calif. – The newest addition to the 2021 schedule at Merced Speedway is also one of the biggest.  Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $5,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start at the fourth annual Al Miller Memorial, set for Saturday, April 17. IMCA Modifieds are on the same card, running for $2,000 to win, $100 to start and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $1,200 to win and $75 to start. Laney, Partain, Jernagan close IMCA Clash with wins at Merced

(May 7, 2022) – Cody Laney raced his way into the record book on the sixth and final night of the IMCA Central California Clash Saturday evening.  Laney won a second straight Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Merced Speedway, and for the record fourth time in wrapping up the series crown.  Opening salvos had Bobby Hogge go toe to toe with Troy Morris III, with Laney joining them to make it three-wide before the first circuit was scored. A pair of early cautions prevented Hogge from getting away from the rest of the pack and he’d trade a couple sliders with Laney before falling to second on lap five.  Laney had a couple cautions to deal with himself but kept an even keel on both restarts and won ahead of  Morris, Hogge, Jerry Flippo and Kyle Heckman.  It was a barnburner of an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Merced Speedway primed for Aug. 20-21 Ed Parker Memorial

MERCED, Calif. – Three IMCA divisions are on the card this weekend for Merced Speedway’s Ed Parker Memorial. IMCA Modifieds, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars top Friday, Aug. 20 and Saturday, Aug. 21 programs. Regular weekly purse will be paid on Friday. Top prize in both Modified and Northern SportMod features on Saturday is $1,028 with the Modified winner becoming eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational during the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The Saturday Stock Car feature pays $528 to win.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded. IMCA.TV broadcasts both nights.
