Smith makes last-lap pass for Keystone checkers

(March 26) – Veteran Kevin Nagy started on the pole Friday night at Bridgeport Motorsports Park and held off multiple challenges and challengers to lead all 25 laps and score the feature win on Day 1 of the track’s Kingdom of Speed Weekend.  The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car event was co-sanctioned by the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series, which hosted, and the Pennsylvania Sprint Series. Entries numbered 37. Nagy first fought off outside front-row starter Phil Meisner, then dealt with challenges from Rick Stief. Finally, Dave Brown took over second and mounted attacks on the race’s last two restarts, narrowly failing to displace the winner. At the checkers, Nagy led Brown across the line by 1.736 seconds, with Dom Melair finishing 1.205 seconds farther back in third, a position he held despite a broken front wing.  Feature results – 1. By Frank Buhrman POTTSVILLE, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Sprint Series will run a rare tripleheader this weekend, with three races on the schedule, including stops at the series’ oldest track and its newest.  On Friday night, PASS will join the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series for a co-sanctioned event at Big Diamond Speedway. On Saturday, the IMCA RaceSaver Sprinters will visit the quarter-mile Path Valley Speedway bullring, now in its 22nd season of hosting PASS racing. Then on Sunday, the new Bloomsburg Fair Raceway will host the PASS and MASS sprinters for the first time ever.  At Big Diamond, pit gates will open at 5 p.m. and grandstands at 5:30, with warm-ups starting at 7:15 and racing at 7:45. Adult admission is $22 ($20 for seniors; kids under 16 and active duty military with ID free). (April 5, 2022) – The River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series will be part of an open wheel race fan’s dream show this Saturday, April 9 at Port Royal Speedway for Open Wheel Madness.  The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, which will run a 20-lap feature and qualifying events, are sponsored again this year at Port Royal by Penns Valley Meat Market. This will be the first of nine scheduled PASS appearances at the Port in 2022, including a twin-20s program in June and the annual Keystone RaceSaver Challenge in October. Nine of the top 10 drivers in 2021 PASS points are set to run Saturday, including champion Garrett Bard of Wells Tannery, who is the runaway leader in Port Royal wins among active RaceSaver competitors with seven.
