WEST LIBERTY, Iowa (June 11) – Saturday night’s racing action at West Liberty Raceway included close finishes and lots of wheel to wheel racing on a smooth and extremely fast race track.

The headliner of the night was the 25 lap iWireless IMCA Late Model feature. The race saw Jonathan Brauns lead several laps before mechanical issues sidelined him on lap 18. Andy Eckrich took over the point and appeared to be on his way to his first win of 2016 at West Liberty.

Justin Kay closed in on Eckrich as the feature wound down and Kay was able to move inside of Eckrich as the frontrunners headed to the checkered flag. Kay led the final 100 feet and took the checkers just ahead of Eckrich. Nick Marolf came under the checkers in third.

The Performance Concepts IMCA Modified feature saw history made as Jonathan Huston scored his first-ever feature win in the very tough division. Huston ran a perfect race in scoring a hard-fought win ahead of a hard charging Kevin Kile and Brandon Banks crossed the finish line in third.

The Weikert Iron & Metal IMCA Northern SportMod feature saw Dalton Simonsen advance from the fourth row and take the win ahead of a strong running Cody Harris. The Kile Motorsports IMCA Stock Car feature saw David Brandies separate himself from the pack early and sail on to a comfortable win over Johnny Spaw.

Brad Havel scored his second career feature win in the US 6 Bodyworks IMCA Sport Compact division. Havel took the checkers ahead of Jason KlerkDerus.
