COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (June 4) – Jake Mayden was the fourth and final leader in Saturday’s Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature at Cottage Grove Speedway.
Ryan Baker got off to a great start and remained in the lead until lap nine after a restart. The driver overtaking Baker was Curtis Towns, who stayed at the point until getting collected in a wreck while dealing with lapped traffic on the 14th circuit.
This gave the lead to Eric Ashley, who paced the field until Mayden made the move to get around him.
Mayden then held off Ashley for his first win of the season. Kinzer Cox, dash winner Steven Sturdevant and Tyler Smith rounded out the top five.
Jorddon Braaten notched his fourth straight Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod victory. Runner-up was Daniel Ray.
More than 20 bicycles were donated and given away at intermission during the Kids’ Night program.
