STUART, Iowa (May 29) – Nick Roberts flexed his muscles on the top side of the oval in racing to a second straight Ron Little Memorial Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature win at Stuart Speedway.

The Sunday checkers paid $2,000 and put Roberts on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational.

Roberts and Racer Hulin led the field to green for the 30-lap main event. Roberts took control early with Hulin and then Darin Duffy close behind. Roberts, Duffy and Hulin held the top three spots until Todd Shute moved into third on lap 17.

A lap later the yellow would fly but that proved to be the final caution. When the green light came on again it was Roberts making the most of the higher line.

Shute finished second with Duffy third, Tim Ward fourth and Hulin fifth in the 16th annual event.

Marcus Fagan held off Mike Nichols in the race for top IMCA Sunoco Stock Car honors. John Watson regained the lead from Ryan Grochala en route to the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock checkers.

Austin Luellen led brother Clint across the stripe in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod headliner and Curtis Miller beat John Gill by inches for the Mach-1 Sport Compact victory.
