
VINTON, Iowa (April 29) – Inclement weather has already taken a toll on weekend events, with a number of IMCA tracks reporting their Friday or Saturday shows have rained out.
Friday rainouts now include Batesville Motor Speedway in Arkansas; Atchison County Raceway, Salina Speedway and Thomas County Speedway in Kansas; CJ Speedway, Davenport Speedway, Farley Speedway, the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway, Lee County Speedway and Marshalltown Speedway in Iowa; Boone County Raceway in Nebraska; Outlaw Speedway in New York; Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oklahoma; and Boyd Raceway and Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Texas.
Saturday cancellations include RPM Speedway in Kansas, where track officials are now working on finding a makeup date; Billings Motorsports Park in Montana; Off Road Speedway in Nebraska; 281 Speedway and Cotton Bowl Speedway in Texas; and 141 Speedway in Wisconsin.
Utah’s Millard County raceway lost Friday and Saturday events.
A big turnout is expected for next Friday night’s show at Salina as veteran NASCAR star Ken Schrader joins the talented pool of Long McArthur Ford IMCA Modified drivers to take on America’s Fast Track to Fun. The BSB Manufacturing NeSmith Late Models, Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars, M&H Motors IMCA Northern SportMods, and Budweiser IMCA Hobby Stocks are also slated to compete.
The Bird Contracting IMCA Sport Compact opener originally scheduled for tonight will also move to next Friday as well. That program will be presented by long-time racing supporter Phillips Motor Sports of Galva.
