SALINA, Kan. (April 22) – Three new IMCA feature winners visited the O’Reilly Auto Parts Victory Lane for the first time in the early season on Friday at Salina Speedway. The night was presented by B Strong Running Company of Salina.

Of those winners, two were father and son, something that doesn’t happen often at all on the same night.

First was Fred Traskowsky, who pulled out to the lead from the front row at the start of the M&H Motors IMCA Northern SportMod feature. He held off a resurgent Tyler Watts to capture his first win of the season. Watts finished second with Chris Humphries and Tim Echevarria rounding out the top four.

The final win of the night went to Fred’s son Mike as he raced to his second win in a row in the Budweiser IMCA Hobby Stock division. Mike had no problem working his way from an eighth place starting position to capture the top prize, with Kelly Pihl, Tony Slothower, and Cody Williams chasing him across the finish line.

Defending Long McArthur IMCA Modified Track Champion Mike Petersilie chased down pole-starting Brian Knoell to move past en route to a triumph on the tricky 3/8 mile. Starting eighth, Petersilie’s win propelled him into a tie for the points lead after two races with week one winner Tyler Frye, who finished fourth. Knoell settled for second while Joe Cleveland finished third.

Coors Light IMCA Stock Car ace Scot Granzella made his return to Victory Lane as he piloted his no. 91E to a win from fifth place at the start. He got by Craig Miller to capture first, with Craig Miller in tow with second. Scott Miller wound up third with Tanner Portenier fourth.
