Lynch, Gower and Abbott grab Quincy checkers

QUINCY, Ill. (Aug. 2) – Jim Lynch, Joey Gower and Kimberly Abbott all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceway on Sunday, Aug. 2 during Titan Wheel and Tire Mid Season Championships.

Lynch worked his way to the front of the Powder Coat Plus IMCA Stock Car main event on the ninth lap and held off Beau Taylor for the final nine circuits to capture the feature event win. Michael Long scored third.

Gower took over the lead of the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMod main event on the fifth lap and held off a succession of challengers for his third feature win of the season.

Bobby Six scored the second spot followed by Brandon Lennox in third.

Abbott and Brandon Lambert put on quite as show as the two battled for the win in the Mach-1 Sport Compact main event. Abbott made the right move at the right time as she took over the lead on the final lap to take the win with Lambert in second and Lain VanZandt.

Quincy Raceway was finally able to complete a regular race night for only the second time in over two months as Mother Nature has had her way with the Broadway Bullring.
