Suchocki scores Stock Car hardware

By Edward Anschutz

STURGEON BAY, Wis. (July 12) – Jamie Suchocki outlasted Jeremy Anschutz to score his first IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win of the season Sunday at Thunderhill Raceway.

Rookie Kevin Luedtke led from the drop of the green in the Stock Car headliner until Jeremy Anschutz maneuvered by. Anschutz then pulled away using the high line. A three-wide battle for third got physical as Billy LeMieux, Dave Bouche and Dylan Heilmann raced for the same real estate, resulting in a caution and a flat tire for Heilmann on lap four.

On the restart, Anschutz went right back to his groove but this time he had company as Suchocki hugged the tires down low, pulling even with the leader. The duo raced door-to-door until the midway point with Suchocki winning that battle.

LeMieux made a late-race charge to the back bumper of Suchocki but it was too little too late as Suchocki took home the trophy. LeMieux had to settle for second.

Other feature winners were Greg Gretz in the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, Josh Lambert in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Marcus Moede in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.
