Smith in a groove at I-90

RaceSaver

HARTFORD, S.D. (July 11) – Colin Smith of Sheldon, Iowa is in his first year of racing IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars but it’s taken him very little time to get comfortable behind the wheel.

Smith came up through go-karts before getting involved in micro sprint racing in Iowa. The opportunity to move up another rung came when veteran racer Bill Boles sold his car to the Smiths. Boles has been there all the way to provide advice and encouragement and Smith won his first IMCA RaceSaver feature in just his third start at I-90 Speedway.

He has been the points leader for much of the season and, on Saturday, won his second feature in a row and his third overall after leading all 20 laps – just another example of how Smith is finding his groove in the new class.
