JEFFERSON, S.D. (June 28) – Sunday’s Total Motors IMCA Modified feature at Raceway Park was led flag to flag by Jason Schneiders.
Schneiders’ mid-season championship night win came over point leader Ricky Stephan and defending champion Chris Abelson.
Defending champion Jason Ward picked up his first win of the season in the Casey’s General Stores IMCA Stock Cars. Ward had the inside line under his control and led Todd Gereau and Chris Mills to the checkers. The win also put Ward atop the point standings for the first time this season.
The Skyline Casino IMCA Northern SportMods were dominated at the front by Karl Brewer, who led new point leader Todd Boulware and Rusty Montagne across the line.
The MOPAR IMCA Hobby Stock feature saw 24 cars start the feature with three- and four-wide action throughout the race. Coming out on top was Aaron Shearn, followed by David Miller and Tony Fetterman.
In the KISS 107 FM IMCA Sport Compacts, Cody Thompson powered into the lead out of turn two in the final laps and held on for the win over younger brother Tyler and early leader Aaron Edwardson.
The KPTH Fox 44 fireworks extravaganza wrapped up the evening’s action. Raceway Park will take the 4th of July weekend off with racing resuming on Sunday, July 12 with gates opening at 5 p.m. and racing at 6:30 p.m.
