ALGONA, Iowa (June 25) – Tim Ward used a late-race pass to win his second straight Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature Thursday at Kossuth County Speedway.
Ward passed race-long leader Derek Green with two laps to go. Jesse Hoeft found the fast line behind Ward and finished second while Green ended in third.
Kevin Opheim was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner while George Nordman used a restart with five laps left to take the lead and the win in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod contest.
Late-race heroics were also the story for the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, as Jeremy Wegner passed Austin Hauswirth on the final turn.
Nate Coopman continued to dominate the Mach-1 Sport Compacts, winning his sixth straight feature as he came from outside the fourth row.
