BANKS, Ore. (May 30) – Sunset Speedway Park had a packed house Saturday for Budweiser Night and Doug Lockwood blazed the trail for his first Budweiser IMCA Modified feature win of the season.
Danny O’Neil ran a great race before Lockwood caught up for the lead just past the halfway mark.
Lockwood led the rest of the way, taking the checkers ahead of O’Neil, Kenny Miller, Matt Jenner and Craig Cassell.
The Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature proved to be a thriller as Pamela Graham and Randy O’Connor were side-by-side or bumper-to-bumper late in the contest.
Unfortunately, the two got together on the final lap, opening the door for Jim Potter to take the lead and eventual win.
Potter became the third different winner in as many Northern SportMod races this season at Banks. Graham salvaged second and O’Connor third.
