Dickey tops IMCA Modified main at Southern Iowa

OSKALOOSA, Iowa (May 6) – Scott Dickey prevailed in a caution-free Musco Lighting IMCA Modi­fied feature Wednesday night at Southern Iowa Speedway.

Dickey led all 18 laps but had to hold off late-race challenges from Tyler Groenendyk and Cayden Carter while Carter VanDenBerg, Andrew Schroeder and Todd Shute tussled over fourth.

Dickey took the win with Groenendyk in second and Carter in third. VanDenBerg was fourth and Schroeder was fifth.

Zack VanderBeek took the lead on lap 11 and led Brad Pinkerton to the Budweiser IMCA Stock Car checkers.

The third different frontrunner, Dustin Griffiths sped from 10th starting to collect his first local Pepsi Cola IMCA Hobby Stock checkers of the season. Aaron Martin and Bobby Greene did stints in the lead before Griffiths took charge.

Jason McDaniel led every circuit and topped the KBOE Radio IMCA Northern SportMod main event. Curtis VanDerWal finished second for the second week in a row.

John Whalen repeated his start to finish performance from a week ago in winning the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature.
