Tri-State checkers fly again for Scroggins

POCOLA, Okla. (May 2) – Aaron Scroggins picked up his third victory of the season, and second straight IMCA SportMod checkers at Tri-State Speedway Saturday night

In the final feature of the night at Pocola, Ken McCarty had the race won until encountering lapped traffic off the last turn on the final circuit. Todd Broyles finished third for the second week in a row.

Johnny Bone Jr. took home the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified win, surviving a late-race challenge by Shawn Walsh. Brent Holman repeated his third place finish from a week ago.

Winner of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature was Dale Richardson. Mike Weisman finished se­cond while Chris Patterson ran third.

The eighth annual Danny Martinez Jr. Memorial event was held in honor of the Fort Smith, Ark., police officer and Tri-State Speedway race car driver, fan and friend who was killed in the line of duty in March of 2007.
