SHAWANO, Wis. (May 2) – Former track champions Jerry Wilinski and Tracy Wassenberg both raced to their first wins of the year Saturday at the historic half mile Shawano Speedway.

Mark Weisnicht took the lead on the opening lap of the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature and wasted no time pulling to a considerable lead over Mitch Stankowski. With nearly a half straightaway lead by lap six, Weisnicht dropped off the pace and pulled pitside.

This handed the lead to Stankowski. A caution flag then bunched the field back up. Wilinski and Stankowski swapped the lead ahead of hard-charging Matt Oreskovich, who had started 17th.

Wilinski took the lead back following a lap 15 restart. He held off Stankowski and then Oreskovich after the final caution set up a three-lap shootout to the finish.

The Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature was paced early by Justin Woller, who received plenty of pressure from Jordan Barkholtz. Barkholtz got into the back of Woller while trying to pass on lap 11, causing the leader to spin.

Barkoltz was sent to the rear while Woller resumed the lead.  When the green flag flew again,  Woller was joined by Wassenberg, Lucas Lamberies and Wyatt Block in the battle for the lead.

Woller spun exiting turn four on lap 16, handing Wassenberg the point. Wassenberg held of Wyatt Block for the win. It was Block’s second runner-up finish in a row. Lamberies took third for the second straight week.

Justin Jacobsen never faltered in winning the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature.

Travis Van Straten ran side-by-side with Jacobsen on the final lap. Brandon Czarapata was third.
