WACO, Texas (Sept. 7) – It took two days of heat races, ‘B’ features and qualifying features before local driver, Chris Cogburn thrilled the crowd by winning the Southern SportMod Nationals Saturday night at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.
The win was good for $3,000.
G.W. Egbert settled for second and Dean Abbey rounded out the top three in the ninth annual special for Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods.
Jake Upchurch topped the $350 to win All-Star Race.
Jason Powell picked up the Sprint Series of Texas win followed by Dustin Woods and David Garland.
