Winnemucca hosts June 1, 2 High Desert Classic Shootout

WINNEMUCCA, Nev. – The third annual running of Winnemucca Regional Raceway’s High Desert Classic Shootout plays out June 1 and 2, with IMCA Modifieds chasing top checks of $1,000 on Saturday and $2,000 on Sunday.  The Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers pay a minimum of $100 to start and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region, E3 Spark Plugs Nevada State and track points will be awarded. Early entry fee for both days is $175 if pair by June 15 or $100 per day. An overall point champion will be crowned. Pit passes are $10 for the 5-9 p.m. Friday, May 31 open practice session.  Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. on Saturday. IMCA Modified winners earn $1,500 at Classic Shootout

WINNEMUCCA, Nev. – An event that’s guaranteed to be a classic will see IMCA Modified drivers vie for top checks of $1,500 on both nights of Winnemucca Regional Raceway’s Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3 High Desert Classic Shootout. Both features are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational bal­lot qualifying events. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start and each main event purse totals $5,500. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region, IMCA State and track points will be awarded for each show. Entry fee is $150 for both days or $100 a day at the gate for non-regis­tered drivers. Racing starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday and follows 12:30 p.m. hot laps on Sunday. The High Desert Classic has been rescheduled to Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3. IMCA Modifieds chase top checks of $1,500 both nights with Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berths at stake as well.
