Maupin Masters Cotton Bowl to Become First STIMS Repeat Winner of ’26

By Nick Robbins PAIGE, Texas (Apr. 11, 2026) — The Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series presented by On Demand Shirts rolled into Cotton Bowl Speedway, marking the first visit for the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds in 2026. Nineteen drivers signed in for the $1,000-to-win, 20-lap feature, and perseverance quickly became the theme of the night as pop-up showers gave the track an unexpected dose of last-minute moisture. The CBS crew remained undaunted, and drivers were quickly back on track to help pack the surface once the showers ended. Pirkle Powers to First STIMS Win in Dominant Performance at HOT

By Nick Robbins WACO, Texas (Apr. 10, 2026) — The Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series presented by On Demand Shirts roared into the historic Heart O’ Texas Speedway for its first appearance of the 2026 season. A strong field of 30 Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds signed in for action, pushing the winner’s share to $1,500 for the 20-lap main event. Series regulars from South Texas were eager to show what they could do against some of the best local racers from the northern half of the Lone Star State. STIMS Rebrands and Expands Points Fund for 2026 Campaign

The series, formerly known as the South Texas IMCA Modified Series, continues to spotlight Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds and has already completed its first two races of the season at Texana Raceway Park in March, where strong car counts and a pair of different winners helped set the tone for the year ahead. Jared Maupin made a statement early by taking the win in DIY Equipment Sales and Rental Heat One over Steven Whiteaker Jr., Sundowner Performance Diesel Heat Two would go to Ryan Doyon, with Steven Whiteaker III finishing second in only his second IMCA Modified start. Whiteaker Scores STIMS Season Opener Victory at Texana Raceway Park

By Tim Robbins EDNA, Texas (Mar. 13, 2026) — The Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series presented by On Demand Shirts opened its 2026 campaign at Texana Raceway Park. A strong field of 23 Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds were on hand for the $1,000-to-win 20-lap main event. Twenty-one of the 23 cars made the call for the 20-lap main event and gave the crowd a great four-wide salute, complete with fireworks. Once the green dropped, Robstown driver Steven Whiteaker Jr. jumped out front from the outside of the first row with Rob Slott in tow. The field would run 15 green-flag laps before seeing its first yellow. That stretch allowed Jared Maupin and Johnny Torres to work toward the front in their pursuit of the Whiteaker machine. Kaplan Delivers Last-Lap Heroics in Marshalltown Stock Car Opener

By Kaden Krebs MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (April 24, 2026) — Racing roared back to life at Marshalltown Speedway Friday night as drivers and fans alike shook off a long offseason and uncooperative spring weather. In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Austin Kaplan of Collins executed a thrilling last-lap pass off turn four to narrowly edge Johnny Spaw at the stripe. Kaplan started 11th and scored his first win of the year in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Spaw had been under constant pressure throughout the race from a hard-charging field that included Braden Richards and Maguire DeJong, with a late caution involving DeJong adding even more late-race drama. Glover Tops Late Models in Davenport Season Opener

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 24, 2026) — After two consecutive rainouts, Davenport Speedway was finally able to get the 2026 campaign started Friday. Knoxville native Curtis Glover made the trip pay off with a victory in the Sunoco IMCA Late Models. Glover took the lead midway through the 25-lap main event. Late in the race, he began to pull away from the field to secure his first win of 2026. Dustin Smith made a late-race charge to finish second after starting 16th. Cruz Birkhofer drove from 10th to finish third, while Logan Veloz and Andy Nezworski rounded out the top five. Nezworski, Veloz, and Bryce Garnhart won the heat races. The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds put on a dandy of a feature. In the first half of the 20-lapper, Rayce Mullen and Charlie Mohr raced side-by-side and nose-to-tail for the lead, with Mullen holding the advantage. Wood Family Makes History as CJ Speedway Opens the 2026 Racing Season

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (Apr. 24, 2026) — The 2026 racing season got underway Friday night at CJ Speedway, and the Wood family from Sigourney made racing history as the father-son duo of Nathan and Brayden each scored feature victories. Nathan captured the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event, while Brayden topped the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature, making for a memorable opening night. The first main event of the evening was the IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Brayden Wood, in only his second full year of racing, started from the outside front row and immediately took command, with accomplished racer Daniel Wauters in hot pursuit. The two put on an entertaining battle, as Wauters pulled alongside Wood several times late in the race.
